Our boy has left us - the one and only Maximus - a giant of a Bulldog - never in his 8.5 years did he cause any trouble - never was he ill and he was such a mummy's boy - he was a total gift and I will miss him forever - I will never replace him as he was irreplaceable. He was a joy - no other words - a legend in his own lifetime.
PRINCESS HOLLYBERRY (DECEASED) Our beautiful crazy pug girl - after having a fabulous litter of 4 boys in April 2017 she went down hill in February 2018 - unfortunately despite strident efforts there was nothing our vet could do to save her - most likely she had an aggressive tumour in her lung - she passed away at the age of 3 which is a tragic loss to us all. She lives on through her boys and our memories of a happy noisy lively puggy! We miss you Princess Hollyberry, |
PERLA MAGGIE AND PALOMA
We have now retired several of our girls - we abide by KC rules and if one of girls has two caesareans - such as Lily - then she's retired. Lulu - our lovely big red/white bulldog girl only had 1 litter but it was too traumatic and we have retired her too. Finally Jeanie - our very special girl - again had two pups and a real trauma keeping a pregnancy going so we took the decision to let her join the McVeigh family along with their pup - son of Princess Hollyberry.
With regard to our pugs, gorgeous Paloma has gone to a retirement home now joined by Perla and the two girls are back together again in a fantastic home with the most marvellous Blackburn family. In fact they have gone the extra mile and now rehomed Perla's daughter Maggie. UPDATE APRIL 2020 - we have just learned that Perla and Paloma died within a month of each other - run free babies at Rainbow Bridge.

Maisie (deceased)
Brontemay Diamond Jubilee 'Maisie' - Great pedigree - lots of Dawnstar including Ch Dawnstar Flery de Lys,, other champions such as CH Shebador Our Floyd at Ocobo, Ch Belushi Floy Joy, great lines such as Brampton, Kaybull, Atomstone - She is a lovely natured girl - strong minded - like all bullies - torments her kennel mates and is very affectionate - a lovely girl!
We are very sorry to report that our lovely Maisie passed away 11 April 2014 after producing 7 wonderful puppies on 26 March 2014. Maisie suffered from pneumonia and despite the most strident efforts of Ashcroft Vets there was nothing they could do to save her.

Lily (now deceased)
Byerleigh Pearly Girl 'Lily' is a stunning example of the English Bulldog breed and is
a white/fawn brindle from famous champion Bulldog lines - Brampton, Rowendale,
Kratos, Calibra, Sealaville - with 8 champions in her background including Ch
Big Daddy of Brampton; Ch Ocobo Just Do It; Ch Medbull G old Dust Over Kelloe;
Ch Rowendale Rum Truffle with Bollglade; It Champion Calibra Crusader at
Brampton; Ch Kelloe Angel Dust; Ch Am Ch Hobtop Picato.
Lily had her first litter, sired by Rhydycroseau Stargazer, son of Ch Saintgeorges Flash Harry of Bandapart - in January 2013, We had 6 lovely pups (pictures on the pup page).
Lily's had her 2nd litter - sired by Ch Kingrock Captain Cook on 21 May 2014. She had 8 fantastic puppies and I have been lucky enough to keep two back myself. Lily is now being retired and we hope to keep her here with us.
August 2021 Beautiful Lily died a week after her 10th birthday - she was a crazy sassy girl - she kept us on her toes until her very last days - she suffered with dreadful arthritis despite living most of her life running like a whippet and then dementia took over - we would find her barking at walls for no good reason - now she's chasing her puppies in heaven - we love you Lily and we miss you so much. The girls below are pups from Lily's second litter - Champion sired by Ch Kingrock Captain Cook - half brindles and half red/white. A lovely litter and I was lucky to keep two of the girls.

Abifinstar Calamity Jane - Raani - miss her so much - she was rehomed with the lovely Brian and Gill - her dog walker took out in too high temperature - she succumbed to heat stroke - despite efforts to resucitate her - she lost her fight. This is the issue with rehoming - you can't control their future.
Abifinstar Belle Star - beautiful Chilli's mother. The lovely Belle was due her 2nd litter - a repeat mating - with Leo as the sire - she started to take on water and despite 3 trips to the vet - they believed she would be ok - I sat up all night with her and at about 3am she became more and more uncomfortable - she seemed to be piling on weight but it was, in fact, water - as she turned over to get comfy she suffered a massive heart attack - the weight of the horns had hit the vena cava and killed her instantly. It was shocking - totally shocking and this is what you risk when you mate your girl - you are at the behest of the veterinary care that you access - sometimes its good - sometimes not so good. I cry frequently over Belle - but I have the gift of Chilli - we will have a repeat mating with Treasurabull Peaky Blinders so I can keep a male and female pup to carry on my lines. Chilli thankfully self-whelped her first litter and I hope she does it again.
Lulu - Deceased
Lulu has just one litter of champion sired puppies - Pumpkin and Izzy. She did a brilliant time but as she had a difficult time - this litter was her one and only. After an unsuccessful re-homing- Lulu came back to her favourite position on the settee where she was my shadow for the rest of her days - unfortunately she was diagnosed with aggressive cancerous tumour and she had to be put to sleep - I miss her every day.
Perla - now deceased
Lewdiam Black Inspiration - another lovely girl from Lewdiam Kennels, Goxhill, Lincolnshire - 'Perla' - our lovely little girl - had 3 gorgeous jet black puppies in March 2013 sired by Teaseltail Black Tie and Tail 'Ozwald'
